….into these uncertain times must be quite daunting? not sure I would want to be brought up in these uncertain times again. Or did we have it harder and just didn’t realise because we where young and didn’t really care?
Who knows, all I know is Britain is in a political mess and America have Trump!! how much worse can it get right?
Anyway I had the greatest pleasure of being asked to make 2 baby blankets for the lovely baby Jasmine born a week ago today. Now I had around 2 weeks notice and as mentioned previously panic kicked in. With no time to lose the hooks, yarn and patterns were out, in fact I’d started before full conversations of what was required had even ceased.
Unicorn / Pink & White – in brief was for one full length cot blanket and somehow this lead into another being requested from an outstanding project that was already underway, which turned into a beautiful pram / push chair blanket.
I was really pleased with how the blankets turned out even though I had to start the cot blanket from scratch (I wasn’t happy), I then felt it would never come to the end, but before I knew it I was adding the border and a unicorn border it was, which I just loved.
What is it about unicorns?
Does anyone else feel the pressure when something is asked of you? I always feel that is priority and I really will not settle until complete, doesn’t matter what it is, Is this just me? Well I managed to complete both on the day of her wonderful arrival into these uncertain times. She of course is oblivious to what is going on around and what will happen to her future, she really doesn’t care right now as long as she is fed, changed, loved and can sleep when she likes.
Oh yes please!!! It would be nice to be in that bubble right now sometimes wouldn’t it?
Would you want to go back and start again? (knowing what you know now)
Side note – what is with this weather? It is still February right? I mean I’m not complaining it is beautiful, I do hope you all have managed to get out and about and enjoy it. I certainly have with the schnauzer’s, in the sun watching them running and chasing each other and their frisbee whilst taking in the surrounds in the sunshine gathering inspiration, amazing how different the same place can look when the sun’s out isn’t it?
Please do share your sunshine endeavours with me, you may inspire my next make you never know, you could appear in my next blog.
Right I must go and continue with something I started work on over the weekend, lightbulb moment, I will let you know and show you if and when happy with it, or not, not everything is perfect first time is it?
Bye for now, continue to enjoy this weather while it remains this week as it may just snow next, remember this time last year?
