It’s the small things in life sometimes isn’t it?
I ordered a wool-jeanie from Amazon last week and I love it, just genius!
Takes a little getting use to and you need to ensure that it’s on the same level you are working, but works brilliantly. No more chasing my yarn around the floor. I’ve tried the homemade baskets, clips on bowl edges, wooden spools etc but this is by far my favourite for ease of use.
Anyone else using one and love it as much as me?
If not, I would highly recommend investing, the strong magnets hold it firmly in place whilst still allowing easy spinning for continual work without stopping to release some yarn to continue.
Take a look
Small things are sometimes best shared 🙂

Good idea. Don’t think it would work for me as I sit with my feet up on the sofa, usually I end up sat on the yarn.

Ha ha me too sometimes. So I got myself a small table to sit by my side and it’s perfect. It’s a little lower but doesn’t seem to affect it 😊

I just wind all my skeins into centre-pull cakes so they never go anywhere! Plus the winding is fun in itself

Really? I don’t have any patients for winding lol. Also I never seem to be able to centre pull I always seem to get it in knots or never find the end 🤣 any tips?

I’ve found that winding too tightly seems to cause knots so maybe that’s the problem? When I wind skeins myself I always leave a really long tail in the centre so it’s easy to find, but for pre-wound centre pulls (unless they leave a tab on the end) I haven’t yet found a way to avoid yarn barf while trying to find the end!

Do you re wind all your yarn before using it then? I have thought about it but I know I will give up after a while 🙈. So glad it’s not just me with the yarn barf situation (so annoying isn’t it)

Yep, but not all at once! Usually I’ll just wind whatever I’m about to use as and when I need it.
